This is the official site of the Flathead County MTGenWeb Project begun in September 1997.  By entering this site you will discover a wealth of information and helpful volunteers to assist in locating information regarding your ancestors.

The succeeding pages will present on-line indexes for county cemeteries, local history books, land patents, obituaries, marriages, divorces, surname researchers, and much more.  Please read the introduction at the beginning of each page before contacting any volunteer for assistance. Links have been provided at the bottom of each page to help you navigate through the site.

Flathead County was officially formed in 1893 from its parent county, Missoula.  In 1909 Lincoln County was formed from Flathead County, and in 1923 Lake County was formed from parts of Missoula and Flathead counties.    These dates will serve you well when researching the different communities prior to 1923 in Flathead County.

This site is monitored daily, updated regularly, and has a reputation for excellence in providing FREE on-line data.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING!
